Main Street Station
Main Street Station, was the ninth
miniature of the Robert Olszewski
Main Street,USA collection to be
released. The premiere date for this
sculpture was June 18th 2005. The
miniature retails for $245.00 at the
Disneyana, Disney Gallery, The World
of Disney and Off The Page, at
Disney's California Adventure.
Main Street Station was a 1955
original. Walt Disney was fascinated
by trains, he loved them so much that
he put one in his back yard. The train
was named the Carol Wood Pacific.
Lily, his wife, was not too fond of this
so Walt had to make a tunnel so that
it would not disrupt her flower bed.
In the early planning of Disneyland
Walt knew that he wanted a train.
This train station was even used in
the introduction to the Disneyland
television show before the park was
ever opened.
The Main Street Station is a great piece
for those who would like to have just
one of the Olszewski art works. The
Station is the first thing we see when
entering Disneyland, therefore
bringing a sense of homecoming. I
will not even try to point out the
amount of work that went into this
piece, but from someone that
appreciates the small details, this one
is full of them.
