Jungle Cruise
Jungle Cruise
This was the second of the
Robert Olszewski,
Commemorative Edition Collection.
This piece sells for $295.00, and
is available at the Disneyana,
Disney Gallery, The World of
Disney and Off The Page, at
Disney's California Adventure.
The Jungle Cruise is based on the
1951 film The African Queen,
staring Humphrey Bogart and
Katherine Hepburn. In the
planning of this attraction ,Walt
wanted to use real animals but he
was told that they would sleep all
day and rarely be seen. The use of
audio-animatronics was used to
create life like animals and
people. This attraction has
changed only a little since its
opening in 1955; the boats have
been painted and a comical
narration is done.
Being the heaviest and likely the
most work for Robert and has
team, they have once again gone
above expectation. Being an
attraction of such size, Robert
has managed to take the
memorable parts and place them
into the piece. As the boats leave
the dock you have the ruins with
the tiger, and the elephant
bathing pool,the upside down jeep
and trader Sam. With the lights
on you really get the feeling of
this piece, the dim light of the
jungle and the danger around
every bend.
