Welcome to the Robert Olszewski Disneyland Main Street, USA collection site.
|
The Disneyland Main Street USA Collection by Master Artist Robert Olszewski has
grown into a collector's dream and a poor man's nightmare. These spectacular
architectural models represent those structures existing on Main Street USA in the
Disneyland park.
Each design has every attention to detail, from the gold spike as you pass through
Sleeping Beauty Castle, to the small apartment that Walt once occupied above the
Fire House. In some designs, a hidden Mickey has been placed, think you can find
him?
The series began with that beautiful castle each of us can remember from
childhood, the soft colors of pink and blue and its towers reaching for the sky. You
can imagine the faint voice ofJiminy Cricket singing as you pass over the draw
bridge. Sleeping Beauty Castle.
The next piece to be released was the Central Plaza with the Partners Statue. The
Plaza Hub acts as the entrance to all the "lands" giving the guest a point of
orientation and a center from which to enter and exit. The miniature retains the
"magic" of this special place with its twinkling trees and the amber glow off Walt
and Mickey. The Central Plaza.
The one that followed next was City Hall~Fire House. This is one of the buildings
inspired by Walt's own hometown of Marceline, Missouri. The Fire House that sits
just to the right of City Hall has a removable roof displaying, in remarkable detail,
Walt Disney's apartment.
City Hall~Fire House.
Town Square was the fourth piece to be released in the series. This one however
had something none of the others did; this one captured the "magic" of Disneyland
during the holiday season. Robert brought into the work the famous Christmas tree
with its color changing lights. The piece also has a small hole by one of the cannons,
this is for the soon to be released Pin Trading Vendor. Town Square.
A few months after Town Square came the Emporium. December 11, 2004 was the
much anticipated premiere. For some of us the Emporium is that last stop for the
night, looking for that must have keepsake. Maybe you would just like to browse in a
turn-of-the-century design building. Emporium.
Along with the release of the Emporium, was the Crystal Arcade and New Century
Jewelry. This was the first time two miniatures debuted at the same time. Crystal
Arcade~New Century Jewelry.
The release of March 26 2005, brought to life The Hat Shop~Opera House and the
Bank of Main Street. Along with this one was the Market House~Disneyana and the
Main Street Cinema.
On June 18th 2005, the ninth of the collection was released. Main Street Station, for
many of us is a very special place. Families stop to take a picture in front of the
Mickey flower bed, or meet some of the Disney Characters. It's as the plaque above
the tunnel says," Here you Leave Today and Enter the World of Yesterday,
Tomorrow and Fantasy". The Main Street Station is the gateway to Disneyland. It's
that familiar friend welcoming you home.
One day before Disneyland's 50th birthday on July 16th 2005 was the release of the
first Commemorative Edition Collection, The Mad Tea Party. This attraction dates
back to 1955, one of the originals that has been entertaining guests for 50 years.
The much anticipated Jungle Cruise was released on September 17th 2005, along
with the Disneyland Showcase~Magic Shop and 20th Century Music Company.
Being the second of the attraction pieces, this is a must have for collectors. Also
this release completed the south end of Main Street.
After the Commemorative release it was back to the Main Street buildings. On
December 10th, 2005 Carnation Café~ Bakery~ Ice Cream Shop~ Penny Arcade was
sold to the public.
The wonderful Candy Palace and Refreshment Corner was also a December 10th,
2005 release. The red and white umbrellas are so inviting you can almost walk in
and listen to the music.
Another 1955 original was the Mark Twain Riverboat. On February 18th 2006 with
the help of Robert Olszewski we could all have one of our very own. Dressed in the
50th anniversary colors and "happiest homecoming" banner the miniature has all
the "magic" of Disneyland.
Even though the look has changed the Astro Orbitor has been at Disneyland since
1956. It now serves as the gateway to Tomorrowland, and a chance for young
explorers to fly over the Magic Kingdom.
The incredible Haunted Mansion was released on June 10th, 2006. This piece is the
most interactive to date with three interchangeable scenes. Push down on the
tower to reveal stretching portraits and hanging skeleton.
Continuing with the wonderful shops of Main Street, on September 23 2006, Robert
Olszewski released the Castle Bros. ~ Disney Clothiers ~ East Center Street and
Crystal Arts ~ China Closet ~ Main Street Photo ~ and East Plaza Street.
On March 18th 1967 magic was made with the opening of the Pirates of the
Caribbean. Keeping true to the magic on November 18th 2006 the incredible
miniature by Robert Olszewski premiered.
The plaza Inn is that perfect place to celebrate a birthday , or just enjoy the turn of
the century atmosphere. Across the way is King Triton's Garden ~ Snow White's
Grotto.
The Disneyland Marquee circa 1974
The Plaza Pavilion along with Walt Disney's beloved Enchanted Tiki Room including
Aladdin's Oasis keeps this incredible collection going.
The Gateway to Adventureland and Frontierland are a perfect place to start your
day at Disneyland. Walking through can take you to another time and place.
If dancing and good music is what you are looking for the Carnation Plaza Gardens
is the place.
Ever wanted to go to Neverland? With the release of Robert Olszewski's Peter Pan's
Flight, you can with out even leaving your home.
