    The Disney castles have become
icons throughout the world.
Cinderella Castle at the Magic
Kingdom in Walt Disney World is no
exception. The castle was inspired by
the Schlob Neuschwanstein in the
Bavarian Germany. Completed in
1971, Cinderella’s Castle stands at
185 feet tall. However when one
stands at the foot of this architecture,
it appears to be at least 300 feet tall.
Disney Imagineers utilized the
technique of forced perspective or by
getting smaller as the building gets
taller, a technique also demonstrated
in Disneyland.

Passing through its arch, the story
of Cinderella is retold through five
mosaic murals composed of 500
colors and a million pieces of glass,
some intertwined with real silver and
14-karat gold. Each mural stands 15
feet high and 10 feet wide and took a
team of six two years to complete.

In the initial design of the castle,
an upstairs apartment for Walt and
his family was to be included.
However, with Walt’s death in 1966,
construction on the apartment halted
and is now used as a changing room
for performers in the
Cinderellabration performance and
Cinderella’s Royal Table restaurant,
which is also housed inside the castle.

Robert has manage to capture the
amazing detail and beauty of
Cinderella's Castle like no one else
could. The LED's illuminate the
castle in a ever changing pattern
from blue to purple and green. The
orange glow from inside offers a
warm welcome. This is sure to be a
favorite among collectors.
